Description
This booklet shows in words and pictures the career of the Waffen-SS officer Wilhelm Mohnke. Mohnke is best known for his role as the last combat commander of the New Reich Chancellery in the final battles for Berlin in April/May 1945. His entire military career in the ranks of the SS, beginning with his membership of the "Berlin Staff Guard", is described here and illustrated by contemporary photos and illustrations of documents, including award certificates, pay books and other written sources. The main focus of the account, however, is the description of his role in the battles in and around Berlin in 1945.
