Description
Numerous pictures and short introductory texts offer the reader an unusual insight into the world of the German mountain troops of the Second World War, who were always deployed where the battle was on a knife's edge. This documentary does not heroise the events of the war. Rather, it aims to objectively trace where and how the German and Austrian mountain troops fought between 1939 and 1945. A special feature of this work is the clear presentation of special units of the mountain troops, which have received little attention in the literature so far. In addition to the well-trained army mountain guides, elite high mountain hunter battalions and the pack animal units, special types of weapons such as the mountain pioneers or the mountain artillery are also presented.
