The AMX recently left the scene after a 35-year journey within the Air Force. If the start was uncertain, accompanied by doubts and criticism, only partly fully justified, as the years passed, the AMX, having reached maturity, proved to be an aircraft capable of carrying out the mission entrusted to it. It has been the Air Force aircraft that has been most involved in several missions abroad (Kosovo, Afghanistan, Libya, Kuwait), totalling over 18,500 operational flight hours, as well as countless exercises around the world.
All departments that have had the AMX are treated organically, highlighting the evolution of the insignia. Photos of 30 different commemorative aircraft are also included. In the appendix there is some modelling information: assembly boxes, colours and a roundup of models produced in collaboration with IPMS Italy.
