Extensively illustrated with rare photographs, this volume depicts the use of Indians in the ranks of the U.S. Army during World War 2. Some 44 Americans of Native American descent served in the Army, Navy and Army Air Force between 1939 and 1945. The treatment of these soldiers by their comrades and their own officers, and especially their service in theatres of war in North Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific, is detailed here.
