The author's grandfather was in the Soviet Union. First as a Wehrmacht soldier, then as a prisoner of war. In search of his responsibility, Reuß, a young lawyer from Berlin, is confronted with the problem of German and Soviet soldiers who fell into the hands of the enemy. He does research. Personal consternation finally turns into a documentation the likes of which had never been seen before.
