The British National Archives contains a large collection of military source material spanning more than four centuries. This guide shows how to research the records of thousands of veterans and nurses of World War 1, World War 2 and the Korean War. With the help of this work, countless written documents (e.g. orders or instructions regarding various awards) from the period from the Napoleonic Wars to the Falklands War in 1982 can be found via the internet. Documents relating to particularly important British regiments, such as the Houshold Cavalry or the Royal Artillery, can also be found with pinpoint accuracy.
