Richly illustrated and with the assistance of Erika Ochel and Hanns Neef, more than 70 years of pewter figures from Kiel are brought back to life. In the picture section, there are some well-known figures and some published for the first time: the Kiel portrait figures, the famous staffs of the Napoleonic Wars or the series on the American War of Independence under George Washington. Famous painters of pewter figures from Germany, England, the USA, Sweden and Italy created the models for this part of the book. The text is divided into four chapters on the following topics: 75 years of Kiel pewter figures all over the world - A company history; Cultural-historical pewter figure, mass type and special figure - The various paths of the Kiel pewter figure; The major historical themes of Kiel pewter figures - A foray through all times and peoples; Draughtsmen and engravers for Kiel.
