Description
The contributions by Klaus Naumann and Donald Abenheim on the defence policy positions of the "Alternative für Deutschland" (AfD) are likely to be of particular interest. Naumann and Abenheim thus provide a comprehensive analysis of the document "Streitkraft Bundeswehr", which contains demands that at first glance appear to be a wish list of soldiers.
The Bundeswehr is making progress. The trend reversals are having an effect. However, the obstacles standing in the way of the Bundeswehr are unmistakable: in its political and socio-political environment, but also in its deep structure itself, i.e. in its fundamental views and values. In the chapter "Bundeswehr on the move: Analyses from the political and societal environment", the authors of the yearbook deal with the role of soldiers in the security policy debate, with their relationship to parliament, society and science, and above all with the defence policy positions of the party "Alternative for Germany" (AfD). The chapter with analyses from the military environment deals with reform culture, strategic capability, digitalisation, education and diversity. What has been achieved so far and how can these topics be used to advance the desirable intellectual turnaround in the Bundeswehr? In addition, the yearbook contains contributions to discussions on the soldierly tradition as well as a documentation with groundbreaking speeches on Innere Führung. The Innere Führung Yearbook 2019 contains contributions by Donald Abenheim, Klaus Beckmann, Marcel Bohnert, Peter Buchner, Dagmar Bussiek, Angelika Dörfler-Dierken, Dirk Freudenberg, Timo Graf, Uwe Hartmann, Rafaela Kraus, Kai Lütsch, Sönke Marahrens, Klaus Naumann, Lena Pütz, Claus von Rosen, Björn Schreiber, Hartwig von Schubert, Martin Sebaldt, Michael Seyda, Peter Tauber, Jens Warburg, Klaus Wittmann, Andreas Wolfrum and Dominik Wullers.
