Not forgotten are the personal belongings of the naval officers and sailors. The militaria pieces belong to museums and private collections.

The authors want to tell the story with photographs, of all those nameless and unknown sailors and navy soldiers serving on the german cruisers, e-boats and submarines, minelayers, destroyers etc. For this purpose they have selected from a big range of unknown personal photographs from private archives. All the historical uniforms and equipment pieces are originals from known private collections. Even the things from the sailors and officers mess are shown for the first time. Enzo and Laurent Berrafato are specialists for the history of the second world war and have published before articles in several military magazines.
