Height: 6 cm, summer. The common hazel (Corylus avellana), also called hazel bush or hazelnut bush, is a species of plant in the birch family (Betulaceae). It is a deciduous shrub that usually grows to a height of around five metres. It is native to Europe and Asia Minor and is very common in Central Europe.
