Mediterranean, height: 14.5 cm. Mediterranean cypresses (Cupressus sempervirens) have been cultivated since ancient times. They are, as the botanical species name indicates, evergreen conifers (sempervirens means "evergreen"). In the Mediterranean region and in the Near East it is difficult to distinguish which species were original here: Cypress species were already planted in various locations during the Roman Empire.
