Description
The privileged influx of Low German settlers and the associated founding of a large number of towns and villages consolidated the rule of the Order knights in Prußen in the long term. Despite various setbacks, such as the first Pruz uprising in 1242, or such as the general revolt as a result of the Battle of the Durbe against the Lithuanians, which was fought and finally lost by the Order on 13 July 1261, the Order was finally able to subjugate the Pruzes in difficult battles between 1261 and 1271.
